A new safe owner should also consider the type of lock to be used on his safe. Several lock styles are available including combination locks, electronic locks, key locks, and time locks. The electronic lock may offer the most security because it can be reprogrammed as many times as necessary to accept a new code. Some security safes that provide an extra layer of security come with two or more of these lock styles intended to work together.
